Hey guys,

today I will make a short summary of this Geico caveman commercial:

So, at first, we can see a caveman in a white t-shirt who is arriving at the bowling centre. He goes to his friends and the are playing bowling. A caveman in a plaid shirt plays and makes a strike. He's very happy about it and proud of himself. Then we can see the automatik to clear the bowling alley. The caveman stops to laugh because he can read what is written on the machine: "So easy a caveman can do it."

I think the commercial is really successful, everybody can understand it and the effect is exciting.

in our last lesson, we saw a video about a community of food hunters, called Freegans. They are a non profit organisation that is digging through the wastes. They go dumpster diving to find food that was toss out but not already rotten. But their aim is not to earn money, the freegans are searching for food to give it to homeless people.

I think this is a very "interessting" way to help people.

Hey guys,

in our last lesson on friday, we watched a short video. It was very funny and I want to tell about it now.

It's about two scottish men who are in an elevator, but there are no buttons to state a floor because it's a voice-activated elevator.

But the problem is that it's an american system and they speak with a scottish accent so the elevator doesn't get their voices.

Thus they try to speak with different accents to make the elevator comprehend the floor number.

today we read a new text...CUTIE! Now, I want to tell you about it...

Cutie is a robot. He is created to replace a human labour in a space station where the scene takes place. These stations were created to feed solar energy to the planets. But life there is very difficult becaus of the heat, the hard solar radiations and the electron storms. "At the moment" there are two persons per station to make it run, but they are hoping that Cutie will be able to replace them. He has a lot of new abilities because she is the highest typ of robot which was ever developed. For example, he is the first robot to wonder where it comes from.

here a short text to describe one exerpt of the novel Frnakenstein...

The exerpt of Frankenstein ( Volume 1 Chapter 4) is conveyed by Victor, the first person narrator.

The pace of the narration seems to be rapid because Victor is very afraid and depics his situation very illustrative. So the text is provided with a gothic atmosphere because he uses terms like "dreary night" and " the dim and yellow light of the moon". Besides the text is pervaded with terms like "horror" and he also depics his inner turmoil with the sentence: " I had deprived myself from rest and health."

All seems to be very horrible and it's fun to read...

today, I want to illustrate the appearance of Victor Frankenstein's monster...

At first, you have to know that on the one hand this monster is very tall but on the other hand he is bulky. Besides, it's interesting to know that the monster was put together from many different corpses, so he has bolts through his neck and a lot of dark brown, large scrars ( x-stitches ) which are holding the different edges together. His head is blockshaped and his skin is deteriorated and has a pasty complexion.

Moreover, he has bloodshot eyes with small irises and ( a wonder happened! ) halfway normal looking, white teeth  ( but that's the only thing that is almost normal)...

At least, his hair:

The monster ( once in the book compared with Adam, the first human) has long, black hair which is coated with grease.

here the summery of our last lesson...(we talked about Frankenstein)

Frankenstein is a gothic novel written by Mary Shelley (19th Century).

It's about  a man who creates a monster which has actually no name.

The name Frankenstein is only a short version of the book's name. The real name is:

Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus

Prometheus is a Greek mythology about the god Prometheus who was punished by Zeus because he stole a bit of Zeus' fire. This subtitle is an allusion to the fact that there is a parallel between Prometheus and her "hero" Victor, who is afraid and so, punished by his creature...

The novel was published in 1818. At that time, it wasn't possible to create creatures so it was a theft of god's ideas...

In general, it was a warning against sciences, in which the people of the 19th Century were afraid...

Now, I'll check out the WebQuests for our homework...
